A Short Bio #
I obtained my Master degree in Lecce, Italy, at University of Salento in 2011. I wrote my thesis under the supervision of Rosario Antonio Leo (University of Salento) and Piergiulio Tempesta (Universidad Complutense de Madrid) on Lie symmetries of fractional differential equations.
After that, I moved to the University of Pisa, where I obtained my PhD in 2015, under the supervision of Sergio Caracciolo. My thesis focused on the random assignment problem in its Euclidean version.
After that, I spent two-year postdoc in the Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Físicas in Rio de Janeiro, where I worked with Constantino Tsallis on mathematical aspects of generalised entropic functionals and related quantities.
I have been then a post-doctoral researcher in Statistical Physics at Sapienza Università di Roma, in the Chimera group led by Giorgio Parisi. During this period, I restarted to look into the Euclidean assignment problem, in parallel with some investigations on mean-field models for the jamming transition within the Simons Collaboration on Cracking the Glass Problem, funded by the Simons Foundation.
In 2020 I moved in the IdePHICS group of Florent Krzakala, first at the École normale supérieure in Paris and then at the École Polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, in Switzerland. In this period, I started to study inference problems on graphs but also classification problems and learning tasks by means of the replica approach, collaborating with Lenka Zdeborová, Guilhem Semerjian and Bruno Loureiro.
From 2021 to 2023 I have been member of the Disordered systems Group, in the Mathematics Department at King’s College London. The group’s focus, at the time coordinated by Yan Fyodorov, is the theory of disordered systems, with a pletora of applications ranging from mathematical aspects such as random matrix theory, to biological applications.
Since October 2023 I am Associate Professor in the Mathematical Physics group within the Mathematics Department at the University of Bologna.
