A Short Bio #
I obtained my Master’s degree in Physics from the University of Salento (Lecce, Italy) in 2011. My thesis, supervised by Rosario Antonio Leo (University of Salento) and Piergiulio Tempesta (Universidad Complutense de Madrid), focused on Lie symmetries of fractional differential equations.
In 2015, I completed my Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Pisa under the supervision of Sergio Caracciolo. My doctoral research addressed the random assignment problem in its Euclidean formulation.
From 2015 to 2017, I held a postdoctoral position at the Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Físicas (CBPF) in Rio de Janeiro, where I collaborated with Constantino Tsallis on the mathematical foundations of generalized entropic functionals and related quantities.
Between 2017 and 2020, I was a postdoctoral researcher in Statistical Physics at Sapienza Università di Roma, working within the Chimera group led by Giorgio Parisi. During this period, I resumed my work on the Euclidean assignment problem and contributed to the study of mean-field models for the jamming transition within the Simons Collaboration on Cracking the Glass Problem, funded by the Simons Foundation.
In 2020, I joined the IdePHICS group led by Florent Krzakala, first at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris and subsequently at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). My research during this period focused on inference problems on graphs, classification tasks, and learning models studied through the replica approach, in collaboration with Lenka Zdeborová, Guilhem Semerjian, and Bruno Loureiro.
From 2021 to 2023, I was a member of the Disordered Systems Group within the Department of Mathematics at King’s College London. The group, coordinated at the time by Yan Fyodorov, focused on the theory of disordered systems, with research topics spanning from random matrix theory to applications in biological systems.
Since October 2023, I have been serving as an Associate Professor in the Mathematical Physics group within the Department of Mathematics at the University of Bologna.
